Defence Minister Urges Governors to Stop Giving Motorcycles as Palliatives
Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa, has appealed to state governors and lawmakers to stop distributing motorcycles as palliatives, warning that some of the motorcycles could eventually end up in the hands of terrorists and bandits.
Musa made the call while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, stressing that the motorcycles give criminal groups greater mobility and make it easier for them to enter communities and escape security forces.
He said:
“We appeal to governors to stop giving out motorcycles as palliatives because these motorcycles are the same ones that will still end up with these terrorists.”
