“Being Born a Christian Doesn’t Make You Saved” — Lady Reacts to Chef T’s Conversion to Islam
Her words
I mean, it’s s@d because as Christians, we believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to spend eternity with God. But what I want to focus on is one thing she said: that she was born into a Christian home.
I’m here to explain that being born into a Christian home does not automatically make you a Christian. What it does is give you the right foundation to get to know God, but you have to come to a place of accepting Him for yourself.
You are not a Christian because your parents are Christians or because you go to church. You are a Christian because you believe that Jesus Christ d!£d, that He was bur!£d, and on the third day, He rose again, and that through Him, you have eternal life. You believe completely and place your hope of salvation in Him. This is what makes you a Christian. So when people say, “Oh, I believe in God,” you have to ask, what God do you believe in? That is why you see a lot of false converts or people who later renounce their faith.
Because the truth is, if you ever come in contact with Jesus, encounter Him, and truly accept Him into your heart, you have to understand that you are assured of eternity with Him. You have assurance of salvation. In John 10:29, Jesus said that those the Father has given to Him, nothing can pluck them out of His hands. So if we see someone who says they were saved and then comes out to say they have denounced the faith or switched religions, we have to question whether they were truly saved in the first place.
If you are truly born again, God promises that He will hold on to you till the very last day when He comes back for you. Finally, 1 John 2:19 says, “They left because they never really belonged with us.” So if anyone says they are a Christian and truly saved, they will not denounce the faith, because it is not possible to encounter Jesus and then turn away from Him…”
