“I Was Threatened for Rejecting My Lecturer” – Lady Shares Disturbing University Experience
A Nigerian woman has shared a harrowing account of alleged sexual harassment involving a lecturer during her time at Abia State University.
According to her, the incident happened while she was in 200 level after she noticed the lecturer’s inappropriate attention but chose to focus on her studies.
She narrated:
“During my 200 level at Abia State University, I had a lecturer who clearly had his eyes on me… After one of his tests, almost everyone in my department got an F or D, but I got a C. He called me into his office, praised my intelligence, and then suddenly shifted the conversation to something inappropriate.
He stood up, moved closer, and tried to touch me. I immediately stood up and told him I wasn’t comfortable.
He asked if I didn’t want an A in his next exam. I told him I did, but I’d earn it the right way. He then threatened me that if I didn’t cooperate, I would carry over his course.
When results came out, I was the only one who had a carryover in his course. I cried so much that day…
Later, he died in a car accident on his way to school. It was tragic, but I won’t lie, I felt relieved.”
