Bi-Courtney explains new airport parking charges, cites misuse of facility
Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited has clarified the reason behind the review of parking tariffs at the airport car park, stating that the facility was originally designed for short-stay use.
The Head of Corporate Communications, Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, explained that the car park was meant primarily for drop-offs and pick-ups, but had been misused over time for long-term storage of vehicles.
Her words
“The design of the Airport car park was meant for short-stay parking: drop-offs and pick-ups. However, we had seen misuse of the facility before now, so we undertook a demand management measure that led to a review of tariffs,”People had been parking their cars for up to a year. The airport car park is not a garage
The whole purpose of the price review is not revenue; it is to restore the facility to its original design
