Managing Director of the bureau, Ojoi Ekpenyong, disclosed that the event attracted over 248,000 visitors—about 24 per cent higher than the 2024 turnout—cementing its status as one of Nigeria’s strongest tourism drivers.
According to the bureau, tourism activities between November 2025 and January 2026 boosted accommodation, transportation, attractions and entertainment sectors. Transportation spending alone was estimated at ₦10.6 billion, while hotels recorded an average occupancy rate of 72 per cent, rising to over 95 per cent during peak periods, with booking revenues of about ₦3.9 billion.
Food and beverage services generated roughly ₦2.05 billion, and major attractions such as Obudu Mountain Resort and Kwa Falls recorded nearly 80 per cent growth in visitor numbers. Ticketed events and nightlife activities also saw strong returns, underscoring the festival’s growing economic and cultural impact on Calabar.
