Nigerian Woman Turns Down ₦200,000 Job Over Childcare, Later Asks Employer for ₦20,000
The statement reads
You are a married woman.
Your husband doesn’t earn a lot. His takehome pay after tax is 168k.
You have a baby of 8 months.
Someone offers you a job as an admin assistant to work virtually from home.
Pay is 200k monthly.
You write back to the employer saying you have no one to take care of your baby.
Employer calls and says, “Why not hire someone to take of the baby while you work. Afterall the help and the baby are in the same house with you. You can check on them several times in a day”.
You respond, “I don’t trust anyone with my child. No one can take care of my child the way I will”.
Employer goes away with the job. Disappointed in women and their plenty stories, employer hires a man to do the job. This was the 3rd woman the employer tired to hire. All 3 women need financial help, but have stories around managing their kids and the work.
2 weeks later, you write an epistle begging the same employer for 20k.
The employer is asking, “What would you do if you were in her shoes?”
