Church Schools Must Run as Businesses” — Olumide Emmanuel Defends Church Investments and Criticizes Critics
Popular cleric and author Olumide Emmanuel has defended the operation of church-owned schools and institutions, responding to criticisms over their cost and accessibility.
In a detailed statement, he reacted to claims that church funds are being used to establish schools that ordinary members cannot afford, describing such criticism as misguided.
He said
“Someone said they used church money to start a school, and the church members cannot afford it. Let me help your f00l!shn£ss.
Many of these pastors and churches that you are speaking against, what they are doing, your presidents and your governors have never done it in almost 60 years of your existence. Go to Redeem Camp today, there is 24-hour electricity. Go to Winners’ Canaanland today, there is 24-hour electricity.
In your own country, after they’ve st0l£n you bl!nd, they can’t still give you 5,000 megawatts, yet you are ins<!ng pastors. May God have mercy on you.If they run this nation like Redeem Camp, we would have free education and free light. If they run this nation like Canaanland, we would have free education and free light.People who have never achieved anything meaningful in their life are now telling others how to run things.
When we carry church money to start a school, once we release that money into the school, the school becomes an entity. That is what we call capital for starting a business. That school must become self-sufficient, or else, it will d!£ a natural de@th, and what happens next? Now my question is: if your father is a staff of that school, are we to pay his salary, or should we just say “God bless you”?
Because you people are just talking r&bb!sh online. That school must pay salaries to professors and staff. So you mean every Sunday we will say, “Praise God, first offering for church, now let’s collect school offering for salary”? The money we put there must be used in a way that the school can continue to run itself and pay salaries. But because you have never run anything meaningful, you don’t understand. Who did this to you? Don’t allow the p@!n and tr@uma in your life turn you into an enemy of God, or you will r£gr£t it…”
