I’m Scared of Losing It All” – Davido Opens Up on Fame, Pressure, and Retirement Fears
Award-winning Nigerian singer Davido has opened up about the emotional pressure that comes with fame and success, revealing his fears about losing relevance and knowing when to step away from music.
According to him
“If there was one thing I could build, I would build a centre for people that have been popular and very successful before, a centre for them to have therapy, because it’s cr@z¥ being on top of the world and the next moment you’re not.Even with soccer, with football, you win all these awards, you win a Champions League, you win World Cup, and people don’t still feel like it’s enough.
Like look at Cristiano Ronaldo, he’s my very good friend. When he left the World Cup, I remember being on the internet, I’m like, they were ab¥s!ng him so much, after everything he has done.Do you understand? So like, that’s my greatest f£@r. I work too hard for me to come and spoil it with something, so I always ask God, like, God, just tell me the right time to, you know? But I think that’s the only thing I’m sc@r£d of.”
