No 24-Hour Power Promise, But Nigerians Will See Improvement,” — Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe
The Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, has said he cannot guarantee 24-hour electricity supply in the short term, but assured Nigerians that noticeable improvements will be achieved across the country.
Speaking on the state of the power sector, he emphasized a focus on gradual but visible progress rather than unrealistic promises.
He said:
“I will not stand here and say tomorrow I will give you 24 hours electricity. But what I will tell you… is that I will ensure visible improvement is seen across the country in the shortest time possible.”
According to him, restoring trust between operators and citizens remains central to the reforms:
“We must close the trust gap between operators and our citizens.”
