Court Must Intervene or 2027 Presidency May Breach Constitution” — Agida Raises Alarm Over Political Scenario
Agida has warned that if the court fails to intervene in a pending political matter on time, a political party could present the 1st defendant as its presidential candidate in the 2027 general election, which he argued may amount to a breach of the Constitution.
He further stated that if the 1st defendant is eventually declared winner and sworn in as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2027, it would mark the third time the individual would be taking the oath of office as president.
According to him
That if the court does not intervene timeously, a political party may present the 1st defendant as its presidential candidate in the 2027 general election, thereby breaching the Constitution.”
In the event the 1st defendant is returned as elected and sworn as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2027, it will mark the 3rd time the 1st defendant will be taking the oath of office as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the affidavit added.
