Umahi Lauds Tinubu’s Performance, Says Presidency Has Not Marginalised South-East
The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has called on political leaders to speak out in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, insisting that the South-East is not being marginalised under the current administration.
Speaking on the administration’s appointments and infrastructure development, Umahi said:
I use this opportunity to ask our leaders to come out and speak out, you know, because we shouted marginalisation, but now we are not marginalised by the President.”
Let me tell you, there’s no other ministry in this administration that is as big as the Ministry of Works, and it’s being handled by an Igbo man, so what a trust… without the Ministry of Works being an Igbo man, maybe we have some projects, but it will not be this magnitude.”
And so, I think that the President is very strategic, you know, in getting Southeast people to the mainstream of Nigerian politics, and so we have to be wise.” On Tinubu’s performance
“I have not even started shouting about the good things that the President is doing in the Southeast. I’m ready to engage anybody; let the person tell me who else would have done this, if not the President.” On electoral support
In this Ebonyi, working with Governor Nwifuru, we will deliver 95% of our votes to Tinubu; we have no reason to give it to any other person… The last general election was an accident of history, and it will not repeat itself.
