VeryDarkMan Blasts Tinubu’s Spokesman Bayo Onanuga, Links Viral Audio Controversy to Attempted Silencing
Controversial activist VeryDarkMan has launched a scathing attack on the spokesperson to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing him of selective outrage and ignoring pressing national security issues.
Recounting how he first heard about the viral audio allegedly linked to him, the activist said he was overwhelmed by an unusual number of calls while in a business meeting.
“The amount of calls I received while in a business meeting, I’ve never received it throughout this year. Immediately I picked the call, I could hear fear in my friend’s voice. He said I should go and check what the president’s spokesman just posted,” he said.
According to him, after listening to the audio, he became convinced that the situation was part of a broader agenda to target him.
“This is the reason I said President Tinubu should not come back in 2027 because all the people that operate under him, these people no dey use their brain,” he stated.
VeryDarkMan refused to defend the viral audio, suggesting instead that authorities were attempting to use it against him.
“You see this audio, I will not defend it. Shey una say na me. And when I come back to Nigeria, I must feel the weight of the law. You no dey shame,” he added.
He further criticized presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga for allegedly failing to address ongoing insecurity, particularly a reported kidnapping incident involving schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.
“Bandits went into a school in Oyo State and took three teachers and students, including a teacher carrying an infant. There were reports that one of the teachers was later beheaded. Where is your comment on that?” he asked.
Highlighting the timing of his concerns, he noted that the incident coincided with Children’s Day, emphasizing the plight of the abducted victims.
“As I speak to you today, those kids are in an unknown location. We don’t know how they are faring. We don’t know what they are eating or whether they are still alive,” he said.
The activist concluded by alleging that the renewed attention on the viral audio was a deliberate attempt to silence him rather than address Nigeria’s worsening insecurity challenges.
“Today you finally have a voice, not because you care about the voice note, but because this is an opportunity to silence VeryDarkMan,” he claimed.
