
Peter Obi Criticizes Extravagant Celebrations, Compares Nigeria’s Power Sector to Egypt
Former Anambra State governor and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has advised Nigerians to prioritize essential spending over lavish celebrations, especially amid economic hardship.
He argued that funds spent on repeated celebrations such as child birthdays and social events should instead be directed toward more pressing needs like education and school fees. According to him, financial discipline is key to household stability in the current economic climate.
According to him

Don’t go and do nonsense celebration. You have a child one-year celebration, two-year celebration, that is not school fees.
