Let U.S. Forces Take Over Mandara Mountains” — Senator Ali Ndume Backs Foreign Support Against Insurgency
Borno South Senator, Ali Ndume, has expressed strong support for the involvement of the United States in Nigeria’s fight against insurgency, particularly in the North-East.
Speaking on the ongoing security challenges in the region, Ndume said he welcomes the idea of American intervention, urging them to establish a strategic base in the Mandara Mountains to combat terrorists operating in the area.
According to him:
“I’m hoping that they (Donald Trump and his men) could even go far beyond… I wish they could even establish their base under the Mandara Mountains and drive away all those Boko Haram elements from there.”In fact, I am appealing. Let the Americans go to Gwoza and take over the Mandara Mountains, please. It will go a long way to cut down on insecurity…”
