We Must Avoid Extreme Measures” — Presidency Speaks on Nigerians’ Safety Amid South Africa Protests
The Presidential Adviser on Foreign Affairs, Demola Oshodi, has assured Nigerians that the government is actively monitoring the safety of its citizens in South Africa following ongoing anti-immigrant protests.
Speaking on the situation, Oshodi said,
Xenophobic attacks: President Tinubu’s government is really on top of things. We cannot, and we should not, move to extreme measures at this moment. We need to ensure that Nigerians there are fully aware of their rights and they know how to be in touch with the Nigerian diplomatic community there in case of any emergency or evacuation.
