
We’re Expanding Tax Base, Easing Burden on Businesses” — Taiwo Oyedele Highlights Fiscal Reforms
Minister of Finance, Taiwo Oyedele, has outlined the Federal Government’s ongoing fiscal reforms, emphasizing efforts to expand the tax base while reducing the pressure on businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises.
Speaking at the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit, Oyedele stated that the reforms are designed to create a more balanced and growth-driven economy.
In his words, he said:
“We’re widening the tax base, while lifting the heavy burden off the shoulders of businesses, especially small businesses,” State and local governments now receive unprecedented revenues, enabling them to pay salaries on time, settle pension arrears, while investing in human development and building transformative infrastructure.
