Elon Musk’s First Wife Says She Learned the Term ‘Gaslighting’ Through Their Relationship
Justine Wilson, the first wife of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, has opened up about their marriage, alleging that Musk frequently made her feel insignificant and constantly pointed out ways he believed she was lacking.
Speaking in a new documentary about the Tesla and SpaceX founder, Justine said she learned the term “gaslighting” through her relationship with Musk.
She also recalled an incident during their wedding dance when Musk allegedly told her, “I am the alpha in this relationship.”
“He was constantly remarking on the ways he found me lacking,” she said.
Justine and Musk were married in 2000 and divorced in 2008 after having six children together. Her comments were featured in filmmaker Alex Gibney’s new documentary, Musk, which examines the life and career of the billionaire.
