Some of Those in NSCDC Cell Who Are Still in Mortuary Were Not Miners — Gov Bago
Niger State Governor, Umar Bago, has said some of the people who died while in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were not miners.
Bago stated that some of those currently in the mortuary had allegedly been detained in the NSCDC cell before the arrest of the miners.
“Some of the people in the NSCDC cell who are still in the mortuary were not actually miners. They were detained there prior to the arrest of the miners,” the governor said.
His statement comes amid an ongoing investigation into the deaths of 37 people who were reportedly in NSCDC custody in Niger State.
