We Will Set Up Special Court for Kidnappers and Cultists, I Will Approve Executions” — Gov. Okpebholo
Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, says the state is preparing stronger legal and security measures to tackle kidnapping and cult-related violence.
He stated that security agencies are actively working to curb criminal activities and revealed plans to establish a special court to expedite the trial of suspected offenders.
According to him, the state government is also considering the death penalty for convicted offenders under applicable laws.
“The security agencies are working. We are going to set up a special court to try kidnappers and cultists. I will sign your execution by hanging,” he said.
