
Suspected Kidnapping Gang Member Claims Dispute Over Ransom After Victim’s Release”
A man allegedly linked to a kidnapping operation in Benin City has reportedly made a confession describing internal disagreement over ransom sharing after a victim was released.
According to the account circulating online, the victim’s family is said to have paid a ransom before the woman was freed near a market area in the city. The suspect also claimed there was a dispute among members of the alleged gang over how the money was divided.
He said
The kidnapped victim paid ₦8 million rånsom, but our leader in the kidnapping gang only gave me ₦1.5 million. We have released the woman we kidnapped at the vegetable market in Benin City on Sunday.”
