Boko Haram Issues Obituary for Cameraman Killed in Nigerian Military Operation
Insurgent group Boko Haram has reportedly released an obituary for Abu Salim al-Barnawi, whom it identified as a cameraman killed during a recent military operation by the Nigerian Armed Forces.
According to available reports, the obituary confirms that the individual died during a raid in which Nigerian troops said they neutralised an alleged insurgent cameraman as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts.
The military operation is believed to be part of intensified offensives targeting insurgent networks in the North-East, where security forces continue to confront extremist groups.
