Another Trip, Another Waste — Tinubu Heads to Türkiye
President Tinubu has travelled again, this time to Türkiye. Official reason? Bilateral talks. But Nigerians are asking a more important question: what exactly have these foreign trips changed for us?
Since taking office, Tinubu has spent about 180+ days outside Nigeria, going on 40+ foreign trips. In 2025 alone, he’s already clocked over 15 trips. Yet insecurity worsens, prices keep rising, and the naira keeps struggling.
While citizens are told to endure, billions of taxpayers money are spent on flights, hotels, and entourages, with little to show for it. No clear investment boom. No relief from hardship. Just more speeches abroad.
It increasingly feels like Nigeria is being governed from outside the country. A president who visits Nigeria, then returns overseas.
Foreign trips only matter when they bring results. Until then, every new take-off feels like abandonment, not leadership.
Nigerians are watching. And they’re tired.
