Woman Questions Reaction After Heated Exchange Over Wedding Contribution
A woman has shared how a phone conversation with a distant relative about a wedding contribution escalated into a heated exchange involving her marital status.
Her words
“A distant relative called me this morning to inform me about her son’s wedding and to ask for my contribution.
I calmly told her that whatever I want to contribute should be communicated through my dad, and I would send it through him.
Her response was that my father has “spoiled” me, which is why I’ve refused to get married and that I’m too comfortable. I was shocked because there was no connection between my reply and her comment about my marital status.
I then replied sharply, asking if that was why she had refused to d!e even though her husband d!ed about 20 years ago and her second husband d!ed 5 years ago, and telling her to be careful not to marry a third husband. I ended the call and blocked her number immediately.
Afterward, I told my father everything. He reacted by saying I would eventually scatter the family, and now several family members have been calling me since then, asking about what happened. Did I go too far?”
