“Afrobeats Is Dying” — Man Criticizes Mavin Records, Raises Concern Over Industry Growth
A Nigerian man has sparked debate online after sharing his opinion on the current state of the Afrobeats music industry and the performance of major record labels.
He compared earlier successes in the industry with the present situation of artist development.
According to him
“Back then, if Don Jazzy signs an artist, within 24 hours that artist is a superstar,” “But today, Mavin Records sign artists and they struggle to push them, If the biggest record label is struggling like this, then you as an upcoming artist should be scared.
Afrobeats is dying and this is what we need to fix the problems in the industry before it’s too late,” he concluded.
