EFCC, INEC Join Forces to Tackle Vote Buying Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have announced strengthened collaboration aimed at curbing vote buying and other electoral financial crimes ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
The partnership is expected to focus on intelligence sharing, enforcement coordination, and stricter monitoring of campaign financing and electoral conduct during the election cycle.
According to officials, the move is part of broader efforts to improve electoral integrity and reduce the influence of illicit financial practices that have increasingly shaped voter behavior in past elections.
