Osun Election Has Reignited the Nigerian Spirit” — Salihu Lukman
Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Salihu Lukman, has attributed Governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory in the Osun governorship election partly to the relatively high voter turnout and last-minute opposition negotiations.
In his words, he said:
“The relatively high voter turnout played a critical role in the Osun election. Unlike previous elections, Saturday’s poll recorded about 40% voter turnout. This serves as a morale booster for Nigerians, who can now assert themselves and get the results they want.
“Last-minute negotiations also made it possible for the opposition party to scale down its investment in the election and redirect it to support Gov. Adeleke.”
