“Poverty Increased By 41% In Anambra Under Peter Obi” — Rufai Oseni
Arise TV broadcaster Rufai Oseni has weighed in on the ongoing back-and-forth between former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and his former running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, over Obi’s record in the state.
Oseni said poverty in Anambra increased by 41%, while noting that poverty also rose significantly in Lagos State under President Bola Tinubu.
However, he acknowledged some of Obi’s achievements in Anambra, particularly in education.
He said:
“As regards Peter Obi’s back-and-forth with Datti Ahmed over his records in Anambra State, the fact remains that poverty increased in Anambra by 41%. It also rose to about 63% in Lagos State under Tinubu.
“Did Peter Obi do the other things he mentioned? Yes, he did. He took Anambra State’s WAEC performance from 26th position to number one across the country.”
