Tehran-Dushanbe Flight Forced to Return After Turkmenistan Denies Iranian Airline Airspace Access
A Tehran-Dushanbe flight was forced to return to Imam Khomeini International Airport after Turkmenistan reportedly denied the Iranian airline permission to transit its airspace.
Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization spokesman, Majid Akhavan, told ISNA on Thursday that the aircraft could not reach its destination because it was not granted permission to cross Turkmen airspace.
ISNA also reported that all flights operated by Iranian airlines to the United Arab Emirates had been cancelled from midnight.
