Can Any Reasonable Person Now Be Talking About Reversing Fuel Subsidy?” — Ayo Opadokun
Chief Ayo Opadokun, Secretary-General and spokesperson of NADECO, has criticised those calling for the reversal of the petroleum subsidy removal, particularly former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Opadokun argued that politicians who supported subsidy removal before the 2023 election are now criticising President Bola Tinubu because they are no longer in power.
He said:
“Petroleum subsidy. But can any reasonable person (Atiku) now be talking about reversing, going back? All of them were crying out that they were going to remove fuel subsidy in 2023. Now, because they are not in power now, they are angry with Bola Tinubu. Take it or leave it, Nigeria has to turn over a new leaf. We cannot continue this…”
