I Wike Never Told Tinubu I Would Join APC – Wike
Former Rivers State Governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has clarified that although he pledged to support President Bola Tinubu from the beginning, he never promised to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Wike said he never told President Tinubu that he would defect to the APC, challenging anyone who doubts his claim to ask the President directly.
“I said I will support the President from day one. I never told Mr. President I will join APC. Go and ask him,” Wike said.
He also dismissed suggestions that APC governors, including Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, could pressure him into joining the party.
“If I want to join APC, it’s not people like Hope who will tell me to join APC. In fact, he is lucky I’m not in APC because I wouldn’t take that kind of rubbish he is doing in APC,” Wike added.
