“This is the second time in three months” – Nigerian comedian Brain Jotter alleges he bought fake Nivea deodorant from supermarket in Lekki
Nigerian comedian Brain Jotter has raised concerns after alleging that he purchased a fake Nivea deodorant from a supermarket in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
In a video shared online, the comedian said it was the second time in three months that he had purchased a questionable product in Nigeria, recalling a previous experience involving expired wine at a hotel in Enugu.
He expressed surprise that the latest product allegedly came from a supermarket he considered reputable, adding that applying the deodorant to his armpits caused a burning sensation.
“First of all, if you look here, you will see the thing dey rust, but that’s not the bone of contention,” he said, before joking that the product felt like pepper spray.
Brain Jotter clarified that his complaint was not intended to discredit Nivea, saying he regularly used the brand’s products and believed the item he purchased was fake.
He also questioned the circulation of counterfeit goods in the country and called attention to the need for greater accountability.
