NLC, FCTA Workers Storm Industrial Court, Call for Wike’s Removal
Workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), under the umbrella of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), on Monday staged a protest at the National Industrial Court in Abuja over unresolved labour-related issues.
The aggrieved workers picketed the court premises, expressing frustration over what they described as prolonged neglect of their welfare demands. Carrying placards and chanting solidarity songs, the protesters accused the FCTA leadership of failing to address key labour concerns despite repeated engagements.

The NLC, which backed the protest, said the action was aimed at drawing national attention to the plight of FCTA workers and pressuring authorities to take urgent steps toward resolving the dispute. Labour leaders at the scene insisted that workers’ rights must be respected and upheld in line with existing labour laws.

As part of their demands, the protesters openly called for the removal of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, accusing him of administrative highhandedness and insensitivity to workers’ welfare.
