Terrorists Overrun Military Base In Borno, Civilians Feared Dead As Women Reportedly Abducted
Suspected fighters linked to Boko Haram have reportedly attacked a military base in Ngoshe, a community in Borno State, leaving several civilians feared dead.
According to reports, the armed insurgents stormed the area and overwhelmed the soldiers stationed at the base before setting parts of the facility on fire. During the attack, residents in the surrounding community were caught in the violence, with casualties feared among civilians.
Witnesses also claimed that several women were taken away by the attackers as they fled the scene after the assault.
Security sources say the incident has caused panic among residents, many of whom have started fleeing to safer areas amid fears of further attacks.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the number of casualties or the full extent of the damage as investigations continue.
