Frank Edwards Shares Awkward Experience After Telling Woman He Wanted to Marry Her Daughter
Gospel singer Frank Edwards has recounted a memorable and humbling experience from earlier in his life when he expressed his intention to marry a woman’s daughter.
According to him, the moment came shortly after the release of his first album when he felt ready to settle down. However, the response he got was unexpected.
He said:
“Shortly after my first album I was forming I want to marry early… I don’t know what gave me the ginger to go tell this woman that I want to marry her daughter.
I noticed as I was talking she was steady looking at my neck… I thought she was feeling how I was answering her questions… it was after I got done talking she said:
‘BIA NNA INA ELIKWA AKWUKWO NNI?? KEDU EBE MAMA GI NO?? (Come young man, hope you do eat vegetables, where is your mother?)’
And it was genuine care. I felt like someone poured cold water on me.”
