Gumi Links Rising Kidnapping Tactics to Notorious Kingpin Evans
Islamic cleric Ahmad Gumi has claimed that the methods used by kidnappers across Nigeria were influenced by notorious criminal Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans.
According to him, Evans—who was arrested in 2017—became infamous for targeting wealthy individuals and demanding large ransoms, particularly in Lagos.
