Sokoto Lawmaker: Terrorists Taking Over Nigerian Territory, Blames Service Chiefs
A lawmaker from Sokoto State has raised alarm over the worsening security situation in Nigeria, accusing armed groups of steadily gaining control over parts of national territory.
The legislator criticized the country’s security leadership, arguing that terrorist and bandit activities are expanding in several regions despite ongoing military operations. He said the situation reflects a serious gap in strategy and response from the nation’s service chiefs.
According to the lawmaker, communities in affected areas are increasingly vulnerable, with frequent attacks, displacement, and loss of livelihoods becoming common occurrences. He warned that if urgent action is not taken, the security situation could deteriorate further.
